Good Day Folks....

Well today I did the unthinkable. I woke up at 5 am(thanks to me lovely alarm and an answer to my prayers in giving me motivation and determination...)and went to a 6am workout. It was awesome. It was just a strength training class. We did some pilates movements, some weights and the resistant bands. I left there feeling invigorated and motivated:)
It is an amazing day today. I thought I would share a recipe for a morning shake that I enjoy every day. I am doing the BFL and found that the shakes were very costly, so I have substituted them for this shake in the morning and a protein bar in the afternoon.(along with my other 4 meals...sometimes 3) I saw this recipe on Oprah one afternoon(with Dr. Oz) and found it on her website. It's really easy to make, but what's better is it's affordable. I bought all the ingredients at Save On More, and they were about $45...but they have lasted a couple of months. The only ingredients I have had to rebuy have been the Soy Protein and the Blueberries.

Breakfast Shake:
1 scoop(1/3 cup) Soy Protein( I just use a scoop from any of the Protein containers)
1/2 tbsp flax seed oil
1/4 cup blueberries
1/2 large ripe banana
1/2 tbsp. agave nectar (You can use honey, splenda... whatever sweetener you desire)
1 tsp. Psyllium husk
12 ounces of water
(a couple of ice cubes if you so desire...I never do...but you may)
Put all ingredients in the blender...shake...blend...and enjoy!!!

Last week I went to the dentist for my cleaning and was concerned about a "pocket" that has developed on my gumline. I've been watching it for a couple of months and it is not getting better. The dentist took an x-ray and apparently I need a ROOT CANAL...ugh...I haven't had many dental procedures so I'm hoping this isn't too painful. He said I could probably get "away" with not having it done(?) but recommended I do it....
I'm getting this done THIS AFTERNOON.
So on this lovely, sunny afternoon, while my "too hot for mama" husband is enjoying some time on the riverbank, I will be sitting nervously, white knuckled in a dentist's chair. Oh well....those are the breaks:)
Not much else to report. Anyhow I have a gazillion things to do today...
Hope you are all enjoying today!
Ciao!

I had to get a root canal done when I got my crowns done...it wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected...as long as you have the freezing...you'll be just fine. You're tough!!

Thats great that you could get up so early and work out...I don't think I could do it...keep up the good work Jenny!

Oh, the whole root canal thing. Some pepple make a big deal out of it, but I'm sure you'll be fine, you don't strike me as the wimpy type. It's all about the drugs really-haha. Good for you, for going to the gym so early-wow! I am going to try my new gym tomorrow morning finally, now that I have myself somewhat sorted out. And then I can spend the next two days having trouble walking-haha.

Good news on the gym!

How does the shake TASTE though?

Root canals are a cake walk with the right kind of meds! Let us know how it turned out!

I like the taste of the shake;however my hubby says it tastes like a protein shake??...(duh...)He's not fond of them.
Root canal went without a hitch...no pain.
Was told that the percentage was high for those with root canals to either have the tooth eventually crowned or veneered...
Friggen GREAT?! Apparently the tooth may be proned to get brittle and change colours...

Hey Jenny

Here is a little tip for bananas we Torey is not a huge fan of breakfast so we often have "milkshakes" in the morning I like to use frozen fruit as it is just colder and makes it more milkshakey for Torey if you peel and chop your bananas into chunks and freeze in a single layer on a baking sheet like you would strawberries then just pop them into baggies and back into the freezer it is awsome they don't stick together and they last much longer this way. Enjoy
