Zombie

I love these nights when my husband is working his graveyard shift. Like every Saturday, tonight was a "mud mask" night. I love the ritual of mudding the face, jumping into a pair of comfy PJ's and climbing into the bed for a few moments while the mud settles.
I did all the above. It was relaxing. I also got completely enthralled with the "Lara Craft: Tomb Raider" movie that I lost track of time.
Pretty soon I heard the chitter chatter of my 2 boys.
"Time for bed! This is your last warning!" I yelled.
One minute passed and I heard a couple of thumps and giggle-giggle.
I jumped out of the bed and ran into the boys bedroom.
"Do you not UNDER-!" I began.
"Aaah!! Aaah! Mommy's turned into a Zombie!" Josey yelled. Both boys were frightened, scared out of their minds...
Seamus dug his head from out of the pillow looked up at me and screamed. "Mommy? Are you okay?"
"It's a mud mask, now get to bed. Last warning or maybe I will turn into a Zombie!" I lectured.
So my two boys silently went to bed.
I went back into my bedroom, plopped onto my bed when Gavin came storming into the bedroom and said, "Pee, mommy!"
We went to the bathroom. I got his book and set up the "big boy seat" on the toilet. He began to read his "I Spy" book when he looked up at me with his beautiful, big brown eyes and said, "Oh Scary mommy!"
I just chuckled. I couldn't believe that I forgot to wash the mud off my face.
Pretty soon Gavin was finished (hadn't accomplished anything) . I gave him his one skittle for trying to pee and I took him back to his bedroom. I just went to plop down on my bed when Gavin came bursting through the door and said, "Pee, mommy!" I brought him back to the bathroom and the cycle began. After a few moments he said, "no pee mommy" and I gave him his skittle and shuffled him off to bed. Finally...
I went back to the bedroom and was halfway through "plopping" on my bed when Gavin came rushing into the room. "Pee mommy!" So off we ran to the bathroom and the cycle began. After a futile attempt at the potty he got another skittle and I tucked him into the bed. This time I told him that going potty wasn't a game, so no more "ups and downs".
I went back into my bedroom and within seconds Gavin came rushing in.
"Gavin..." I was interrupted, "mommy kiss, pease?". I looked down at him and gave him a sweet and tender kiss. He ran out of the room and I began to follow. He met me at my bedroom door with a washcloth.
"Mommy cean (clean) blue! Oh gross!" he smiled.
Could you believe that I forgot to wash the mud off of my face? I quickly walked Gavin to his bedroom and tucked him in. Immediately I went to the washroom, but was intercepted by Josey who had to use the facility himself.
"Mommy is your face gonna stay that colour?" he asked.
"If I don't clean it right now it just might!" I chuckled.

Enjoy your day!
