October 18th

36...what a grand number!
Happy Birthday to me! (too)
Last night as the hours were drawing closer to my birthday I leaned over to my hubby and said in a slight voice, "36 eh??...40's coming close!"
His response, "I'm not just saying this because I have to,you still look young. You have a youthful glow about you!"
That brought back my moment of feeling slightly down. I won't tell him that the "youthful glow" is actually moisturizer.
"moisturize, moisturize, moisturize"...is my motto. Apparently it does work.
This morning I woke up and felt joyous...only after checking myself in the mirror for wrinkles. Nope...no new ones sprouted in the evening....phewf!!
I used to dread birthdays. I didn't like that I was growing old. Then I realized, the only other option is to stop having any...gulp, and I certainly don't want that to happen.
So here I sit...chai in hand(Jenn you rock my friend!!!)and I will shout...
"I am 36...here me roar!!!"
Here's looking at you 36...
Click here to read up about all sorts of events that happened on this day. I am most proud that on October 18, 1929 us Canadian women were considered "Persons". Read here for more information on this wonderful piece of history.
I also share my birthday with a wonderful blogger pal Nin. This woman is wise beyond her years and a source of inspiration. Wishing you all the best for the day!!
I'm excited at what this next year will bring. I'm sure there will be some good, bad and ugly, but that's all part of this journey of life we are on!
Speaking of which I need to go and book a pap smear for next week. Ahh...this is not a birthday ritual I actually look forward to...
Hope you enjoyed this day!!
Cheers,
Jenny

Happy Birthday dear friend!
Here's a good way of looking at birthdays....

You're not a year older, you're only one day older then yesterday!

Hugs and love,
Pen

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Soooo awesome that we share this day together! Congrats on the no new wrinkles, and what a sweet blessing from your hubby. I hope my hubby says amazing things like that when I turn 36 and am searching for wrinkles in the mirror. I'm already on the search for new grey hairs though! I have em already!!!! haha! So while you may have more years on me, I'm following closely behind ;)
That's a neat bit of trivia, so glad they decided to make us "people". (what the heck were we before??)
Oh yeah and good tip about the moisturizer. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, hope your day was awesome and that God reminded you of how much you're loved just as you are. Blessings!!

Happy Birthday Jenny!!!

I agree...moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! I have moisturized everyday since I was 13 and it is my goal to not have wrinkles until I am old and grey!!!
