Spring has Sprung...A Rambling Post

What a glorious morning!!! I have to say that these beautiful spring mornings are what it's about. I can hear the birds whistling, (my hubby aka dorkman spent 10 minutes on Sunday whistling back and forth to the birds, finally I told him it was the neighbour he was whistling to(it wasn't) and then he stopped...I wrecked his fun, aren't I cruel!!)and the sun is making her way to come and spend time with us lucky folks today.
Today is my first pick up day for the recycling. Yay...I feel amazing that we are supporting this business. It is a little pricey as my area only has once a month pickup, but I feel that I want to support these new businesses and I don't mind paying a little extra for the service. So everything is in one bag and then put on the curb. The only problem we have encountered this month is we forgot to save the tins and milk jugs..(duh...). We weren't too organized with the sorting and need to set up some totes for recycling in the basement. I have been eyeing a certain area that can house two totes. It means some work on my part though...it never ends.
Today I should be outside doing my gardening but I need to do a quick tidy. My aunt and uncle from Ontario are coming for a 2 week visit(and staying with my parents). I love seeing them as we have a small extended family and they are AMAZING people. My aunt is very much like my dad...only she carries a purse and wears pink lipstick! Okay that made me laugh...and I'm still laughing!!! Needless to say, I am excited to be able to spend some time with them.
Joni and I did the bridges the other day! It was fun. Hopefully we will be doing them once a week. If any in towners want to come along just let us know. I have been tracking my steps with a pedometer and that day I had over 17000 steps. Yesterday I only had 8000 steps. If you go to here, you can record your steps and watch yourself trek across Canada. So far I haven't left Victoria...just taking in the sights of the Royal Museum and such!! It's a great motivator. Everyone should have a pedometer to see how many steps you take in a day. The challenge is on folks!!!
Anyhow I am off to enjoy some coffee. I need to make some more nectar for the hummingbird feeder. My camera is in the van(which is with Scott today at work) so I can't upload any of my recent photos.
Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful spring day!!!

Okay, I laughed my head off at this post! First you're talking about how dorky you two are in your garden, and I totally related.... now your husband is whistling to the birds. My husband has suddenly developed a geriatric interest in bird watching (which gives me so many opportunities to mock him) so I just ordered a bird book from chapters.indigo for him. Then I read this on your post... TOO FUNNY! We are BIRDS OF A FEATHER...yuk yuk

This comment sucks, sorry.... and my word verification is rectfai, which made me laugh all over again.

I had to tell Scott that your hubby likes birds and he replied, "nothing wrong with liking birds!" and smiled.
We have a few bird books. They actually have a bird book that is specific to this region.
You should have seen how excited he was that there were 2 hummingbirds at the feeder tonight...
Yah we're full blown dorks.
I had an email from an old dear friend who was reading my blog and she said, "I can't believe how domesticated you and Scott are!"
We fought domestication hard so it is ironic.
Okay, can I post a longer comment...and on my blog!!!
