ok, i don't know why, but Blogger won't let me comment on your most recent posts - but first off - i love that song...there's just something about it...at least i'm not the only one finding meaning in songs lately!!!!
second - your post about being selfish totally goes hand in hand with my one about friendship...my biggest struggle is that i feel that i am being SELFISH by not finding the time i should for my friends!!
and i expect so much of myself - i always feel that I am the one that needs to keep up the relationships - that I am responsible if something doesn't turn out the way it should...but i really need to realize that yes, in a way - we are all selfish...but if being selfish means that i spend time with my family & make sure that their needs are taken care of above all else - then that's what needs to be done...
but we need to be careful...like you - i hold everything in. i find it really hard to be blunt & honest & end up saying things i don't mean, or taking the blame for something i didn't do, just to please everyone else. then i let the hurt & anger build up...and i explode - usually on someone or something that had nothing to do with all of the other stuff to begin with.
i'm learning to speak quicker - but only after i've thought about what i'm going to say & the effect it will have...that way it's dealt with right away & i'm not sitting there wondering what Rod is thinking or the other person and if they hate me, or if they are still mad at me.
this is not an easy thing to do - we always like to leave things until we HAVE to deal with them right?? that's just something i'm learning to do....
so, i'm right there with you sweetie...this probably hasn't made any sense, but it's made me realize what i need to focus on...
thanks for that...
