Travolta Eat Your Heart Out...

The dance was a major success!!! We had a blast. We were with our usual group of friends and we danced the night away. Sometimes I embarass my husband. I ended up having a few drinks, and of course, I was a little bit tipsy after one. Immediately I wanted to hit the dance floor. Scott wasn't sure that his dancing shoes were in place, but did agree to come out and dance with me. It was a live band and the music was awesome. I love dancing...I don't know if I am a good dancer or not, but that doesn't bother me. I embarass Scott because during the course of certain dances I decide to try different moves. I might throw in the tango, a quick jig, the twist, or like last night, "the Elaine". I thought it was funny to do "the Elaine" while dancing to "Smooth". The lady next to us shot us a dirty look and I had to give her another shot of "the Elaine". I can't understand people who can't smile, laugh or realize that it's okay to be a goofball on occasion. Lighten up people!!
Scott and I were talking to a friend of his and he introduced me to her friend. Scott said, "her father is so and so!" and I quipped, "but don't hold that against me(or something to that affect!" and the 3 of us laughed. The lady looked at me and said, "you should have more respect for your father. That's disgusting!" She was VERY intoxicated.
"Well I have plenty of respect for my dad, and you know NOTHING about me!" I replied.
A moment of silence and Scott and I walked away.
The nerve of that lady. I joke about my parents. The only reason I joke about my mom and dad is that they joke about themselves. My dad always has a comical story that pokes fun about something he's done. He'd be the first one to tell a person about launching his pontoon, or him figuring out how he was going to sit on Gavey's potty seat(try removing it from the toilet!) That's what I love about my dad...he's a character. He brings laughter to our household. He'd give the shirt of his back for his family. I am proud of my parents. I am the person I am, because of them. That's the bottom line.
I bumped into a couple of old childhood friends at the dance. It was cool to catch up and chat. It's funny how I only live 40 minutes away from my hometown, yet it feels like a lifetime!
It was loads of fun and I am glad we went!!
Anyhow the Sopranos will be starting shortly. I need to make a cup of tea and watch it. Has anyone watched the show "Big Love"? It's pretty humourous, it's about a polygamist who has 3 wives. We enjoy the show!
Anyhow have a great day!
Jenny
And before I get hate mail... I don't support Polygamy in any way, shape or form.

I'm going to come over after ww on tuesday and watch it with you, is that alright!

I think having funny parents is such a gift, don't worry about what other people think, you know who you are and how you feel about your parents, then puey on them! I know that you're dad wouldn't have taken offense to that comment, but that he probably would have taken offense to the lady that told you to have more respect for him. My dad always has told me, and I feel the same way, he doesn't tease or poke fun at people he doesn't like. So you were poking fun at your dad, you love him, without humor, our lives would be pretty boring. Take care!

Don't sweat it! Some people get joy out of trying to make others miserable. I am glad you had such a great time at the dance! Good for you!

I would have told her to get stuffed and have another drink that what she'd had so far hasn't improved her personality.

Glad you had such a good time other then Her Rudeness.
