Stop the Presses....

Well I had a nice sappy piece drafted yesterday about how wonderful my hubby is...but it was way too over the top for me. So I ditched it. Last week I had a couple of quick blips about the boys and their complete wonderfulness, but, alas, it wasn't what I needed to share....Deleted!
So I will post an honest update about me.
My dad is having some health issues. I won't go into too much detail(email me if you want more info)and it's been an emotional nightmare. I have never experienced sick family members, but seeing my dad in the hospital has been pretty rough. So sad to see to see someone you love, not feeling well. So I have been back and forth to K-town visiting my mom and dad, while trying to be the strong, upbeat one.
Man, this is tough at times. Today I am having one of those days. I woke up in the morning and Jonas asked me if I had his t-shirt for the run for fun. I completely forgot about getting him one and then I had major mommy guilt. On top of that I started to have a major "why me"few moments. This tirade of mine lasted about 25 minutes. I thought of every thing that I am responsible for doing and thought why do I have to do all of these things? Chauffering kids around, paying bills, managing money, organizing everyone's life...laundry...
Then I realized I was being a big ol' cry baby. This is my job, my life...the life I chose to live. My responsibilities...so suck it up princess. Which, btw, is what I did say to myself!
Some people go through way harder circumstances...the loss of a loved one, major financial uncertainty...all isn't that bad(at this moment anyways).
Phewf...
We're hoping my dad is off to V*ncouver today. He needs to be in a city where they can properly diagnose him and give him the treatment and therapy he needs. My mom got a phonecall last night asking her to bring up one of his meds down to the hospital, because they "ran out"??? WTF...friggen scary...
Oy...besides that nothing else is really newsworthy with me. I am still running, but I only did 2 runs last week. Tonight I will go for a run and I can tell my body needs to burn some energy!
I am thinking I need to buy a laptop for myself. We only have one computer in the house and it has become a hot commodity these days. Whenever I go on to the computer someone is usually needing it "quick"...ahem...my hubby is the worst. He's needed to go online to read a walkthrough for one of his video games twice since I've started this post. Umm...isn't that the joys of a video game...it's called cheating otherwise!!!
Oy...
Gavin graduates from preschool on Friday. They have a ceremony and wear a cap. I bet I'll be an emo wreck. He's almost done his t-ball for this season. He loved it. He was the only one of the boys to actually love baseball. He's got an awesome throw and loves the whole game. The other two had no desire for the game. They do the trophies next week. This will be cute. The other two have been doing the same ol' routine. School, soccer, friends. Both are excited for school to be over, so they can "relax". Remember the days of our youth(I barely can, I swear I have some sort of dementia happening!). The end of the school year was always the best. June had all the field trips, and all the fun activities in school.
Anyhow that's the best update I could muster for everyone!!
Hope all is well!!
:)

Take everything as it comes Jenny and don't forget to take some time for your self too, a run sounds like a great idea.

Get a laptop. Seriously. It will save your marriage. (Not that it's in trouble!) Once you have it though, you will wonder how you ever survived without one!

Well if he keeps booting me off the computer than the marriage might well in fact be in trouble!LOL...
I think a laptop is a necessity!

Sorry to hear about this Jenny. Our thoughts & prayers are with your dad.

You're a great mom, btw. I know you're not asking for that, but... there it is anyway.

Jenny,
Thinking of you and continuing to send prayers for all of you. What you're going through is perfectly normal and seeing your parent in this condition shakes you to your core. Know there are many of us here for you in what way we can be.

xoxoxoxo and lots more,
Pen

oh man, daughter #2 graduated from preschool last week - they did all these songs and dances on the stage and they were all gussied up and I bawled like richard simmons in a deal-a-meal infomercial. when it came time for her to hug her teachers goodbye, i pretended to be really busy staring at the arch construction that they were standing under...
