Buck Fever

My husband has been busy hunting these past 4 days. The first couple of days he was tracking a big 8 point buck. After a couple of days he got his record breaker and has moved on for his caribou, elk and now he is hunting a grizzly bear. Is it hunting season you may ask? Well...(ahem) Scott purchased a new hunting game for the Nintendo Gamecube and has been busy hunting. He leaves first thing in the morning for the basement with his coffee and dreams of victory. During the day I see him a couple of times. Yesterday I decided that I wouldn't mind taking in some scenery (albeit fake!) and decided to join my hubby on the hunt. He was still on the hunt for the 8 point yesterday when I geared myself up (with a cup of Jo) and joined Scott midway thru the hunt. Immediately I was getting into the hunt. Scott brought out the deer call and began calling the deer towards him. We were both getting excited...could this be it? Could I give the luck to my husband to get this infamous deer? We saw the deer in a clearing...Scott began to creep towards it. Our hearts were pounding. Suddenly the deer began to run. I screamed, Scott panicked.
"SHOOT!!!" I yelled.
"Ahhh..."Scott responded.
"SHOOT THE DEER!(It came out in slow motion!!) I shouted.
My husband fell under the pressure. He did manage to shoot a tree and fall down a bank!
"I was just TOO nervous!" he proclaimed.
I just shook my head. "Hun, I'm not comfortable with you hunting with your buddies this fall!"
"Why?" he asked.
We looked at each other and laughed.
Today I went down to see how his Grizzly Bear hunt was going. I walked in on my husband getting mauled by the bear!
"And you wonder why I don't want you to hunt?" I said.
This time there wasn't any comment.
Anyhow Scott is having fun. That's all that matters.
As for the day's events...
1) The boys enjoyed a good ol' light saber battle with their dad this afternoon. Everyone had fun.
2) I played Texas Hold'Em on the computer.
3) Our friends came over for a short visit.
4) I did do my workout today and bonked out!!(in laymen's terms...worked out really hard!)
5) No sugar or bread!!! I can't believe that I have lasted this long!! (Don't I have faith in myself?!)

The weather was spring like...a few flurries of rain!
I am happy to report that Nathan Cullen got re-elected!!!
Enjoy your day!

Great video Jen. I need to learn to do that...oh wait, I think learning to post pics before videos would be a better place to start.

Good job with your workouts and eating, we're gonna do this together and be beach babes this summer...okay maybe not babes, but maybe beach mama's! Ha Ha!

Isn't it fun to just sit and be a kid for a while, playing video games? I took a full day recently to sit and play Tiger Woods golf. I struck the familiar pose my son uses, had a couple of "dead soldiers" (empty soda cans) sitting on the floor next to me, and my feet propped up on a make-shift stool.

It's amazing to me how easy it is to put weight on, and how excruciatingly hard it is to take it off. I'm down a total of 13.5 lbs. since October 1 - moving slowly, but it's still moving.

FWIW, when my son was playing a race car came on the PS2, I decided that he didn't need to get a permit as soon as he turned 16. Not the way he drove in that game. Uh uh, no way!
