Tour of Homes

I was so excited when I went on Org. Junkie's site and saw a link for a Tour of Homes. So if anyone knows me, they know I love looking at other people's houses. (No not peeking thru windows,I might add!) So of course I thought I'd invite everyone to come and take a tour of my home. It is a work in progress. We have lots of updating (new lighting, fans, flooring in the kitchen) but it is a home we are absolutely in love with.

Okay don't be shy...come on in!!!

I might add that the entry way walls are a purplish colour, we are in the midst of repainting.

When you walk up the stairs our living room is to the left. We need a new sofa (excuse the futon) but haven't quite decided what look we're going for. My husband will be putting up crown molding in the fall to finish up the room. (silly me, I should have taken down Scott's birthday cards from almost a month ago!! I guess a true Canadian I am...see the Timmies cup of coffee!!)

Through the living room in the back of the house is our kitchen. I love the space. We need new cabinets in the next couple of years and we're getting tile flooring put in (from the entry way, computer room, main bathroom) next year!! Yay!! I just repainted it a month ago.

This is the dining area. We are waiting for a picture to be framed to put over the picture shelf. (It's a poster from the artist Patricia Chidlaw , who happens to be Scott's mom's cousin)In the corner of the dining room is the coolest storage area that currently houses Scott's bikes. Also Scott is going to put up crown molding and wainscotting in the fall! That will finish up the room.

This is a view from the entry way into the computer room and main bath. One of my favourite spots of the house.

Here's where I spend far too much of my time!!!

The other side of the computer room. (note the $70 water bottle nicely displayed in the window!)

Right off the computer room is our main bathroom. I'm going to paint it in the next couple of months. A very light frosted glass colour.

Here is our bedroom. Really boring and uninspiring. I love the space. We have a beautiful bay window in the room and a nice skylight. However, it needs to be redecorated. I don't like the pine shelves, but for now they will do. Hopefully we'll tackle this room in the next few months.

Well that's it folks. A brief introduction to our home. I'd show you the basement...but oy...not sure anyone wants to see it right now!!!

Have a great day!
Jenny

Yeah Jenny! Your house looks sooo inviting. I'm ready for a cup of tea. I didn't get my pics of the house posted due to teething baby syndrome. Oh well.

Terrible speler (sorry couldn't resist), our house is actually only listed as 10 years old. The previous owners bought the shell and completely rebuilt it.
That was the reason we bought it as well...I love old homes with character and when we stepped into the house I was sold!(even though it was decorated in Victoriana style...not my style!)

Laura, let me know when you want me to put the kettle on!!! You're always welcome.

Love all the windows - I would never call something with a window that big as uninspiring! Is that an antique typewriter? You have some very interesting details arranged in a unique way - I love old stuff!

Is your house always that clean? If it is, I don't think we can be friends anymore, since clean people make me nervous. HAHAH!

Your house is lovely! I love your style, a little bit modern, a little bit country. Like mine! I love that coffeetable in the living room, if you get tired of it, I can take it off your hands!

Roxanne, I don't know if I really have a style!LOL!! I kind of like it all and try and fit it in!!!
Pictures don't show it all...my house isn't all that clean. Things may be somewhat tidy, but trust me, there's some major dust bunnies bouncing along!!!
I have to say I've had so much fun today touring people's homes!!! It's been the best day!!
Scott thinks I'm the biggest geek ever, but oh well...he loves me anyhow!!!

Ooohhhhh aaaahhhh love your house. It's Victorianish with a touch of contemporary. So, where in Northern BC are you? I'm in southern BC.
Thanks for letting me tour, though I'm a day late...was on a mini vacaction in Harrison Hot Springs, and as soon as I got home, I started touring...that was 10 hours ago!! Am I bugged eyed yet?

It's fun when the house still needs things to be done, but you're enjoying it already. I can see there's lots of great potential, but it's already a wonderful home. Very friendly-looking :-)

Thanks for inviting us for a tour! It's been so great to see homes from all over the world!

You have such a nice lovely home, starting right at that view from the street! Wow! I love the way your talk about your home - it shows just how special it is to you. Clearly a home and not just a house. Wonderful job painting and decorating and your color choice make for such a warm and inviting place. Post some more pictures as your do the upcoming painting and decorating!

What a great space! I really like the blue in your kitchen. Tried it myself, but mine didn't wear it well (not enough light). Anyway, thanks for posting a tour.

You really do need lots of light in an area to pull off this colour blue, but we are fortunate to have a bright and airy kitchen/dining room. The colour changes lots throughout the day too. It truly is a serene and refreshing place to be in.
Thanks for stopping by!!
